QUESTION: I would REALLY like to add to my butt- I have some weight to lose all over (about 20 pounds) but I need to GAIN in the backside. I have heard that squats are an effective way of helping- how many do I need to be doing per day?
ANSWER: Are you using weights? If so start out with 2 sets of 12 reps and increase to 3 sets over about 1 month. Then keep on increasing the weight until you reach a reasonable level, say 95 pounds for women. Beyond this weight you will be building extra muscle in you quads and hamstrings. Of course everyone is different and that’s why it’s your responsibility to check out what works for you.
Keep you feet at shoulder width or farther apart. The further apart, the more the squats will effect your glutes ( butt).
