D K asked:
I am a 6 foot 155 lb male in my late 30’s and in good shape. Will the p90x program help me put on muscle weight? What should I expect? What kind of nutrition plan would I need to follow?

p90x is a good program to lose weight, and not gain much muscle…they give you a nutrition plan to eat less..if you wanted to gain muscle, you need to take in more calories and protein then they are asking you..also you cant get a muscular body just with the routines they give you…you need to hit up a gym if you want to gain the muscle weight
DK,
Yes P90X is a good program to put on muscle weight. Have you seen the infomercial? Those people are absolutely ripped. During each work out Tony Horton reminds you, lower reps higher weight for bulk, higher reps, lower weight for tone. So you can gear the program towards your needs. That said, since you are already in good shape I would go straight to the 3 Phase of the Nutritional Guide and add more calories on top of that. If not I am following The Abs Diet, which has completely changed the way I eat.
Hope this helps,

You sure can! In my first round of P90X I lost 44 pounds. I went from 212 pounds to 168 pounds in 90 days. Over the next 6 moths I increased my body weight from 168 pounds to 183 pounds and my body fat stayed roughly the same!
You have to lift for strength doing no more than 8 reps per set. When you can do more than 8, you up the weight to drop your reps back to 8. The P90X Nutrition Manual helps you determine your caloric needs and than all you have to do is increase that number by 300 calories. If you don’t start gaining weight you up it by 100 calories until you do start gaining weight.
I recommend 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight to ensure you have plenty of muscle building protein in your diet.
You can follow a CLASSIC Round of the X and see some AWESOME results!
Good luck and all my best,
