so after exercises that you haven’t done before.

Stay at this weight when doing them again within a week.
We have plenty of great articles here on squats.

It’s OK, aspirin will relieve the soreness a little.

No it just means your muscles arent used to it yet.
Dont worry, the more you do it, the less soreness.
No it’s lactic acid build up. If you haven’t worked your muscles in a while you will be sore for a few days. Don’t worry this is normal.
you used a muscle your body forgot you had.
That’s good news! You did them right. It means you worked your muscles hard enough to excrete lactic acid. You tore down muscle, and it will build back stronger (the whole point of lifting). Remember that when you feel it hurt, you are burning calories as your body repairs the muscle better than ever.
You need your muscles to ache slightly for them to eventually get stronger. It’s the muscle fiber tearing just a bit so that when it regenerates itself it is stronger than before. You never want to have real pain, but sore is ok. Go slow, don’t overdo – you are new to this.
pain = its working
kepp doing it despite the pain
it will go away
When you do strength training or weight bearing exercise, little microscopic tears appear in the muscles used. This is normal. These tears are necessary for your muscles to improve themselves. The muscles will repair themselves and become stronger in anticipation for further activity.
However, when you do weight bearing exercise and create these tears, you must make sure that you are giving the muscles adequate time to repair themselves. This requires at least 48 hours of rest. So, if you do squats on Monday morning, you should not be doing them again until Wednesday morning to allow adequate rest, rebuilding, and getting stronger time for your muscles. Anything more frequent can result in injury.
Hope this helps!
