Protein vs Carbs after Workout for Fat Loss
A recent study at the University of Munich in Germany confirms that protein meals after exercise are much better for burning fat. It’s long been known that carbohydrate rich meals can prevent fat burning even on low a calorie diet.
This is because carbohydrates prevent energy from being released from fat cells.
We know that the body uses mainly fat as fuel at exercise intensities below 65% of maximum effort. In this study overweight people exercised for one half hour at moderate intensity and then consumed either a protein meal or a carbohydrate meal afterward. The protein meal actually increased fat burning while the carbohydrate meal prevented it. What is interesting is that eating a carbohydrate rich meal two hours before the exercise promoted fat burning just as well as the protein rich after-exercise meal.
The moral of the story is that you can help your fat burning efforts by eating carbohydrate meals two hours before exercise, or protein meals after exercise.
Just try to remember that eating is for fuel. If you see eating as an event, or pleasure,
you are going to have a harder time shedding the fat.

One should take pleasure in eating one should also take pleasure in eating right and appropriate. If you do both you can have both. If you make eating a chore like going to the gas station for over weight people I feel that would make it even worse.
You can truly enjoy food you just need to learn to eat right and enjoy that instead of the abuse most people give themselves. A drug addict enjoys the drug but if they knew how it would all end in rehab or overdose would they still do it if they could feel those feelings first? Probably not. I think for overweight people the freedom eating right for a while can bring is almost like giving up drugs. You learn to eat really good food that actually tastes like food should taste not the taste of preservatives and poison. I love the taste of vegetables of all kinds and I love fried chicken wings. Both please me equally but only one pleases me in more than one way. When I eat the sprouts or beans or carrots I am pleased by the taste and how it makes me feel later. Make eating right a pleasure and not a chore and it becomes a lot easier. Do what you indicate above and you are living in a prison of your mind…
