1) When is the BEST time of day to workout? Is it usually right after you wake up?
2)How long should I eat prior to working out? How bout after?

I think the BEST time to workout is when your body does BEST. My wife has being doing X and prefers night. I drag in the evening time. I LOVE doing X in the morning. The only one I do in the evening is Yoga because it is an hour and a half. Also, its good to workout in the morning to jump start your metabolism for the day.
If you do it in the morning, I usually don’t eat until right after working out. This is a great time because your body is best suited to take what it needs from the foods within a half hour of working out. If you do it at night, I would not eat within and hour of exercising, maybe even two hours on Plyometrics days.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
SilverMitch,
To follow up on what Brad was saying. Let me start off by saying I am by no means a morning person. The habit I got into when doing P90X I have carried over to while doing Slim in 6. In the morning I would do the Ab Ripper X program (it’s only 16 minutes) and this way my afternoon would just be the regular work out. This way I was not completely spent by the time I got to Ab Ripper X.
Studies have shown that if you get some form of exercise in the morning, you are more likely to rev up your metabolism. So now 3 days a week I do an AM Yoga program by Rodney Yee and the other 2 days I do Slim 6 Pack. Basically do what best works for you.
As far as eating I try to eat something at least 1 hour before working out. On days that I did Plyometrics I would bump it out to 1.5 to 2 hours before. After, try and have a recovery drink with in 1 hour of working out. Something with a 4 to 1 Carb to Protein ratio.
Hope this helps,
Stu
I just started p90x and have a couple questions to ask regarding the eating schedule….I work out in the evening, so would I still need the recovery drink and protien bar as a mid morning snack??? or would I take those in the evenings after my work out?? or would I do both!?
Thanks,
Jesse
