Squats target your Quads, Hamstrings, abs, obliques, calves... so in that part he is right.

Unfortunately, it is not going to work out your biceps/triceps/forearm muscles.

However, it is good to do exercises even though you have a broken hand to keep your cardio and the other muscles ready for when your cast comes off :)</description>
