Is it Possible To make my upper legs Bigger with muscles, without doing squats?

I wanted to make my upper legs larger (thigh areas) not with fat , but with muscle. But I can’t do squats, my knees cant take it. Is it even possible to enlarge my upper legs without doing squats?

    here are a few things you could try
    -riding your bike
    -hiking
    -tred
    -machines at the gym that specialize in making them big[not squats]

    do squats to strengthen your knees so that you can do more squats . Simple.
