Andrew asked:

I understand Resveratrol is found in red wine, but I don’t drink alcohol and the 60 minute piece seemed to indicate it was years away.

Resveratrol is found in grapes, red wine, peanuts, blueberries, cranberries and a little known plant called Japanese Knotweed. You can partake in any of these today and start getting the benefits of resveratrol.

However, what you really need is larger quantities of resveratrol in your body to feel and achieve the health benefits. There aren’t any studies yet to prove that, but the French Paradox is based on a culture that drinks red wine regularly and has for years.

To get the benefits, your best bet is a nutritional supplement with resveratrol. But don’t just go out and get the first one you see. Resveratrol is an antioxidant and thus needs to be protected from the air until it enters your body. This is the second reason red wine is healthy.

Resveratrol is also best absorbed in the mouth, called buccal absorption. A pill therefore, is not going to be as effective as a drink (like red wine). You really should find a drink or powder that is in individual servings so you don’t expose the remainder to oxygen. There aren’t many ‘terrific’ supplements on the market yet.

At benefits-of-resveratrol.com, we recommend a product called OPC Factor. It’s a full spectrum antioxidant product that meets our terrific supplement requirements. It’s isotonic and effervescent to increase absorption, it’s in individually sealed packets you mix with just 5 ounces of water, it’s available on-line and is not an MLM product you’ll get pressured to ‘join’. On top of that it contains ALL the antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and enzymes in red wine along with a bunch of great herbs.

If you want to get started today, drink grape juice for breakfast, have peanuts for lunch and put blueberries on your dinner dessert. And then sometime today order yourself a resveratrol supplement like OPC Factor.

I use and recommend you try Vivix. One daily serving delivers the equivalent amount of resveratrol provided in 100 glasses of red wine. Laboratory studies show Vivix ingredients have been shown to be 10 times more powerful than resveratrol alone at slowing the formation of AGE proteins.

Hope this is helpful and feel free to contact me with questions.

Resveratrol is just one antioxidant of many that are found in Red Wine. To get the maximum benefit it make sense to get the full spectrum of antioxidants.

Secondly, grapes are subjected to more pesticides and spraying than any other fruit.
It is critical that any supplement be derived from organic grapes.

Thirdly and very importantly how much resveratrol is actually assimilated by your body if you take it in a nutritional supplement? The bio availability of the resveratrol form you are taking is crucial.

The research I conducted lead me to this supplement I got here:

For example Organic Red Wine NP+ is made of 700 Phytomicrospheres containing organic red wine polyphenols
(per 2 vegetarian capsules) that provide 100+ antioxidants and helps nitric oxide to be liberated from cells. Phytomicrospheres technology is a new galenic process which captures the full spectrum of natural substances found in liquids (tinctures, fluid extracts) and simply transfers them into a dry, stable and complete natural form.

There are definitely resveratrol (or rezveratrol) options for non-alcohol drinkers. Supplements and extracts have been developed and sold. I’ve seen lots of info out there, but one site that’s pretty straightforward and also has links to supplemets and extracts is.

Although there’s no experiment proving the effectiveness of Resveratrol, there’s no harm in adding Resveratrol in your diet.

There are quite a lot of Resveratrol supplements out in the market today that you can purchase. You don’t have to drink wine because these supplements has the right amount of Resveratrol in them to give you anti ant-aging benefits.

I found a review of some resveratrol supplements, check the like I included.
