How to strengthen your quadricep muscles without doing squats or lunges?

My doctor believes I have Patellar Femoral Pain Syndrome but it didn’t show up on my x-rays. I have heard that strengthening your quadricep muscles will help with this problem, but the thing is that I can’t do squats or lunges because they are very painful for my knees. I did some squats 3 days ago and now I can barely walk. Are there any other exercises any one knows about to help strengthen my quads? Thanks!

Can you do Leg Presses? I can’t do squats either because of my knees, but I am ok with leg presses.
