How often should i do interval training?

I’m trying to lose fat and retain muscle and i was recommended interval training, aparently like sprinting 3 minutes jogging 3minutes or sprint 1minute jog 5minutes repeat. how often should i do this in a week?

    Start with one or two sessions a week. Listen to your body by seeing how well you recover in the following days. After six weeks add one or two more. Diet plays a big role. Do not under or overeat, try to strike a balance.
