My aunt is considering using the Cardio machine to help her reduce the pain in her knees or prevent the recurrence of arthritis. I wonder if this machine would really help her out with her problem. If yes, how long should she use it and up to what level?

Yes they do. Get an elliptical stepper. The motion that your legs take is smooth and in an oval pattern. Recumbent bikes also work well. My mother-in-law has bad arthritis in her back, legs and knees from working as a nurse for 30 years in nursing home lifting heavy elderly people around. She does the recumbent bike 30 minutes a day and swims for an hour every other day. The swimming is absolutely no stress on the joints. The elliptical steppers and recumbent bikes also stress the joints very little. Have her try the equipment before you buy it or she will never use it !!!
I think the best therapy/exercise your aunt could do is water aerobics. Most towns and cities have a program for just this. She needs to put as little stress on her joints as possible and water exercise is a great way to help her joints and keep her in shape as well. Actually it will help her achieve a wider range of motion and make everyday chores and activies much easier.
Not the treamill as that’ll put extra exertion on knees, I had a snapped knee, I had to use the cross trainer for a long time as that took all the stress off my knee.
She needs to look at a high quality glucosamine supplement (1500mg per day) mixed in with high quality omega 3′s and calcium that will help a lot.
Also, there is an amazing pain reliever called ExtRemedy that is natural and homepathic and comes with a money -back guarantee if you are not satisfied for any reason. You can see it at
