You're right. A lot of men's attraction toward women is based on VISUAL attraction. It's what arouses them. SOME - but not many - are attracted to plus size women. So - if they are single and looking for a mate - they are going to be nice to women who they find attractive.

Also - people with healthy bodies look as if they take care of themselves (some don't - they just are lucky and have skinny bodies) - so people (men and women) are more likely to respect them - because based on what they can see - it looks as if they respect themselves.

I went through my college years as the fat one. And yes - many of the guys treated my skinny girl friends better than me - and when I got thin, they treated me better than the heavier girls.

I know you are trying to get thin - but I think you are doing it for the wrong reasons. You are trying to lose weight so men will pay attention to you. These will be the same men who are now rude to you - and can't see past your extra pounds. Is that what you want? One of those? Just concentrate on your health - and you'll start to see things differently.

I can't really fully answer this question! I know the saying is that smaller size women get more attention! I By this society standard, I am not a small size girl , yet I carry myself like I am the best thing on this earth...I am ,educated, confident, and definitely a prize on any mans shoulder! So I really do not have any experience with being treated differently!

This is sad but true,I wore a size twelve for six years now i wear a size 5 there is a big differnce.but,i would not say much worse,Many people treat obese or morbidly obese men women much worse,But here in the United States, most people are overweight we also have alot of obese people, escpecially in the South.I Imagine they would mean relly mean to Obese people in somewhere like China or Korea, where that's not the norm, like it is here.

Yes, I agree with you. People treat you differently by the way you look, whether that be your size, race or if you are beautiful/ugly.

People judge.

It has been proved that this is the case, it is pretty sad this is a fact.

I do have to say, even though people see me as thin and attractive, people have treated me badly because of that. So I guess it can go both ways some times. But yes, people who aren't considered attractive or thin don't get treated as well as others.

Sadly I agree. I'm guilty of it but not guilty in that sense of respect. I'm guilty in the sense of impatience. But it goes for all genders, races, sizes, and ages...and whatever else there is in my experience. But I have heard lots of horrible things about overweight ladies who really need to ask the person if they looked in the urinal lately.

Hey I agree, bigger women do usually get less attention than what u call normal weight girls but I am personally at the other end of the scale. I am quite thin for my age naturally but people are quite rude to me, they think its quite ok to question my health, I've actually been called a junkie a few times. It's just the way society is....
